Est. 2002
I'm Steve. I was born at Toronto General Hospital in August 1950.
Our next door neighbour, Joyce Medforth, had an 8mm movie camera and filmed movies of us.
In 1992, I wanted to find those films, those memories. Ten years later, in 2002, still not found, I felt the pain of having lost those old film memories forever. It dawned on me that lots of other people must feel the same pain, and I was looking for something new, very worthwhile to do. I figured helping others save their memories would be that something. I was right, and I have been helping many families save their memories ever since.
Back in 2002, DVD blanks had just recently become very scarcely available in Toronto. Each blank cost $ 10 and far too often disks were bad, scratched, nicked. I had to get replacements, or toss a few. I also had to make backup copies at no extra charge just in case. Computer DV technology had just barely advanced to letting "the little guy" burn DVDs. As far as I could tell, I was the very first in Canada to offer old film transfers to DVD that the average person could afford. Despite all the tech problems, those early years were a lot of fun and immense gratification for me to help so many people save and re-visit their old memories.
Miracle of Miracles Six Years Later
In 2008, I finally did find about 20 minutes of those old films of my own family, a reward I assume for helping so many others save theirs.
Let me help you save your memories too.
